Katelin’s deep-rooted connection to the business community began with her family's locally owned business, which has thrived for over 60 years. From an early age, she understood the vital role of businesses in her community, fueling her passion for protecting their rights. Katelin's legal expertise spans all phases of civil and commercial litigation. She fights for local mom-and-pop shops to national corporations. She is adept at representing both plaintiffs and defendants in complex disputes, including breach of contract, fraud, fiduciary duties, business torts, construction conflicts, and more.

Katelin’s recent litigation experience includes: 

  • Successfully litigating and collecting on claims of lien for general contractors and subcontractors upon residential and commercial real estate in amounts above $3,000,000.  

  • Successfully defended general contractor against claims topping $100,000.00 brought by a subcontractor, resulting in a complete dismissal of the lawsuit without payment of any kind to the subcontractor.  

  • Successfully defend a general contractor against homeowner’s claims exceeding $50,000.00, resulting in an award of 5 figures to the general contractor. 

  • Aggressively represented business owners in claims against customers who failed and refused to pay outstanding invoices.

  • Represent a land developer in every stage of the creation of a planned community. 

  • Defended several homeowners after homeowner association and contractors filed liens upon their residences, resulting in a complete cancellation of liens. 

  • Successfully represented business owner who installed custom cabinetry in residential home after homeowner failed to pay the invoice for custom cabinets, resulting in business owner receiving a payment in full for the outstanding balance owed on invoice, along with all attorney fees and costs incurred.

Collections Law

Katelin leverages her deep understanding of the law to pursue every available legal remedy, from attachments to judgments, making her a powerful advocate in the collections field. Katelin is a tenacious attorney who refuses to back down, pursuing every avenue until she achieves the best possible outcome for her clients. 

  • Collected over 2 million dollars for a general contractor owed for the construction of a commercial building 

  • Successfully pursued collection of $8,000,000.00 judgments against individuals who were previously believed to be judgment-proof.

  • Collection of a $120,000.00 judgment that was only outstanding for 4 months. 

  • The repossession of two long haul trucks, with the combine value of $200,000.00, after the lessee’s breach of its commercial leasing contract with commercial vehicle leasing company. 

  • The issuance of an arrest warrant when a debtor failed to turn over personal property pursuant to a court order and satisfy a judgment.

  • Represent a national corporation in all of its collection and litigation needs. 

  • Act as local counsel for law firms and foreign corporations throughout the United States by domesticating, renewing, and enforcing judgments.

Katelin is an attorney with a passion beyond the courtroom. When she is not advocating  for her clients, she enjoys nurturing her wide collection of houseplants. Katelin is a diehard Tar Heel and enjoys watching her alma mater play on any occasion.  In her spare time, you can find Katelin soaking in live music, exploring new cuisines and locations, or deep in conversation about the latest Bravo drama.
