Business & Commercial Litigation
After graduating from Antonin Scalia Law School, Jake completed a clerkship at the North Carolina Business Court with Chief Judge Louis A. Bledsoe III and Judge A. Todd Brown. In that role he gained exposure to a wide variety of litigation involving insurance agreements, home owners associations, closely held corporations, trusts, and more. He drafted opinions and orders, assisted with hearings and trials, and researched a wide range of corporate governance and procedural issues. This experience gave him a strong foundation in the complexities of business disputes and the practical demands of high-stakes litigation.
Antitrust & Economic Regulation
While at the Antonin Scalia Law School, Jake focused his studies on antitrust and competition law, earning the Outstanding Academic Achievement in Antitrust Law Award. As a member of the Journal of Law, Economics, & Policy, he reviewed scholarly articles and authored a note examining how antitrust enforcement can adapt to digital markets. Before entering law, Jake worked as an economist at the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis, where he developed economic accounts and gained expertise in analyzing large data sets—experience that informs his analytical approach to complex regulatory and commercial matters.
The Personal Side
Originally from Howard County Maryland, Jake now lives in Charlotte. Outside of work, he enjoys board games, fitness, and cooking (especially Italian). He and his fiancée share their home with their dog Brandi and cat Garbanzo.
